I have tried to incorporate the type sessions we have had throughout this module into my design. Therefore I have been playing around with different weights, sizes and positioning of the type...
These are my favourites.
I have made the word 'hero' in bold and in a larger point size to add emphasis.
I have also emphasised words that I feel are important... like the point of the problem... and what they did to aliveate the problem.

Working out the type logistics and layout...
I've been working a lot on the layout of these posters and got a bit stuck in a rythm. I now need to establish how to type out the stories...
How many letters?
Will they look good positioned?
Does each story have to be exactly the same size to make them look good as a series?
Experimentation... layout.
Writing on a path...

I think the type might have to be smaller...?
I don't want to change the colour, but I'm going to see what it looks like...
Definitely not right..
Does the type need to be smaller?
I'm going to try out more combinations...

Text Experimentation
Image 4
This is definitely my favourite image and feel that it will be the most effective for what I am trying to do due to the number of tracks in different positions, it will be clear behind the text.
Experimentation...
As I thought, the image goes very well with the type and is clear... however the image itself is quite a small image, which is disappointing and will restrict some design decisions...
The final one, I tried with lower case mixed in with the upper... I think more experimentation needs to be done with the type... maybe not have the image behind?
On it goes...

Image 3.
Experiments.
I really like the effect of these as they give a sinister feel to the underground. Really claustrophobic and almost something from the film 'creep'.
However the type over the top does not portray enough of the image for it to have the desired effect and the pale colours of the walls of the tube lit up saturate the type.
The answer could be a different typeface... or a different colour background other than white.

(I know there is a watermark... if this is the image I chose to use... I will purchase it)
Experimentation with the same type...
Both of these are very successful as you can clearly see the lines behind the type. The top one I feel has more effect... however the image is clearly not in a tunnel...

This is just looking which photo would look the best behind the type... The font is yet to be decided.
Photo number 1.
Both look good, however it is not clear that it is a tube line underneath... maybe this is good? Adds some thought...
I do think the colours are too warm.
The second example shows the tracks more effectively.

Experimentation for the text...
As I learned how to put image behind text for my previous 'lyrics' idea... I decided I might play around with a few different ideas using this idea to start with...
I picked an obvious picture to put behind the text. Simple but effective... but I will build on this.
This is the photo... an image of a tube line.
I feel the black and white, high contrast photo really adds some menace to the train line idea.
I do not know whether the fact that it is an outside line might retract from my idea...
But these are a few examples of what I was thinking...
A few positionings of an example of text I might use on this photo...
Small differences but still important.
The top one includes more of the sky and less of the rails... slightly retracts from the enclosed menace of a tube line.
The second includes verges but you can clearly see the lines...
The third is darker, you can still see the lines, but not as clearly...

Playing around with my new skills
Just playing around with some of the lyrics I have been looking at... I have chosen, for the moment, for experimentation purposes to use an image of an original comic-book hero scene.
Photoshop experimentation
After coming up with my idea, I then realised that the area that I have chosen to work with is an aspect of photoshop that I do not know how to use... therefore it is teach yourself time.
I want to learn how to put an image into type... time for a step by step guide. Hello google.
My saviour...
It turns out it was a pretty simple process.
Here are some examples of my first attempts.
Jelly Bean
Puppy
And more to do with my project...
I have always wondered how to do this. You learn a new thing every day.
