Final Posters - To print

Ready to print... I never thought I'd see the day!

Putting the posters into context... the london underground... illustrator generated photos.

I also decided to put them into an illustrator file... to put another stance on them.
This was one I did before I actually designed the posters, before I decided to do 4 and 6 sheets, so the actual images didn't actually fit... actually on the tube line. If I had more time, I would definitely design some more to fit this format.

This is how I am putting my posters into context. As I could not get them printed and actually into the stations. This was the best I could do.
I have put them in a combination of 4 sheets, 6 sheets and lift, escalator and stair panels. These were the ones previously decided on in the context part of this blog.

I feel these really put them into context, I could really imagine them actually being there. And the variation of posters rather than one single print makes people think.
I found this very challenging... my photoshop skills leave something to be desired, but I don't think these are too bad.
I have tried using a backlit effect for the 6 Sheets.

Final Poster Designs.

This is the layout of my final posters. The five heroes, selected out of the nine.

Experimenting with text on the posters...

I have tried to incorporate the type sessions we have had throughout this module into my design. Therefore I have been playing around with different weights, sizes and positioning of the type...
These are my favourites.

I have made the word 'hero' in bold and in a larger point size to add emphasis.
I have also emphasised words that I feel are important... like the point of the problem... and what they did to aliveate the problem.

"You could be a hero" try out...

I tried out different positions and different opacities, but I truly feel that it doesn't need it. I think I have visually communicated what I need to say...

Poster decisions

Following my little breakthrough on the layout front, I now need to decide on the good 'hero' deeds that my heroes have done.
I also need to decide which 5 I prefer and would fit the stories I come up with.

I am wondering whether I need to write something like "you could be a hero" somewhere on the posters or whether I want them to communicate what I want to say without having to spell it out...
I will try it out, see what it looks like...

Poster adjustments...

More experimentation in Illustrator. I had real problems with the curves.

Poster type adjustments.

The curves were wrong and I was having real problems adjusting the type for it to look even half decent.
I went to the bubble. They are brilliant.
I learned that I needed to play around with the bottom curve to make it work with the type, and then adjust it all with the white arrow tool.
It took a lot of playing around with but I think I successfully achieved what I wanted.
So this is my final design for this hero.

Now to get on with the others...

More Layout Experimentation...

THE CURVES ARE DIFFERENT AND IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

Working out the type logistics and layout...

I've been working a lot on the layout of these posters and got a bit stuck in a rythm. I now need to establish how to type out the stories...
How many letters?
Will they look good positioned?
Does each story have to be exactly the same size to make them look good as a series?

I don't want to change the colour, but I'm going to see what it looks like...

I now want to play around with the different colours. 

I really like the logo changing along with the general layout colour of the poster.

I need to establish a clever way to write exactly what they have done to achieve this 'hero' status...
