I took a day doing some experimentation with hand-rendered, illustrative typography. I realised that it takes a lot of work to get it looking successful, both aesthetically and technically (legibility and readability)
I did a lot of different styles of the same words to really see what kind of type will work in the context of what I am producing.
These are some of the experiments which I will then scan in and re-work using photoshop and illustrator.
This is a very illustrative experiment, a bit like a previous style that I created my 'Josh' image. It is very aesthetically pleasing, and put into the right context could really add to a piece.
This was a nautical themed experiment. I am going to add waves and different textures and shades of blue to make the image which will accompany it.
This was very decorative and time consuming. I don't think it was worth the time and effort as it doesn't look right for what I am trying to do.
I have tried to write in a lot of different styles to really push the words to their greatest extent.
These are images of the drawings. I am yet to add colour and separate them off to put them into context.
