Glayva - The bottle

Seeing as we are focusing on mixing the drink and using the results as a selling point... we decided there was no point in moving forward until we bought a bottle and tried it.
On our budgets... we were hoping that it would be good, both for the worth, and the fact that advertising something we don't like seemed slightly daunting.

On first seeing the bottle, I got very excited about the fact that the orange on the logo provided by Whyte & Mackay as a digital file was very different in print form. For a start... it was foiled, a bit like the idea that we had previously come up with and gives us a lot more of a range of finishes we could play with print-wise. We also noted that the bottle was a lot nicer in its solid form than on the photograph, where you could not notice the patterns on the actual glass... or any details of the logo.

These are a few photos of the bottle. It's contents were very syruppy and rich.

"A carefully selected fusion of exotic spices, tangerines, cinnamon and honey."
"This award winning nectar warms your heart and indulges your senses."
"Enjoy this supreme liquid on it's own, over ice or as a mixed long drink."

"The Glayva liqueur company - a product of Scotland"
"Glayva, the best liqueur in the world ®"

"Glayva Liqueur Crafted & Bottled in Scotland"

"Glayva is Scottish Gaelec for 'very good'. The finest Scottish malt whiskies and exotic ingredients give Glayva its distinctive, delicious taste"
"Indulge your senses responsibly. For serve suggestions go to glayva.com"

These are all things we can play around with for our campaign.

As for the taste... well, it was definitely warming. I could feel every sip go down my gullet. Almost burning... but I think that is the same with any whiskey... it is very thick and rich... strong exotic flavours... just like it says on the bottle really.

We tried mixing it with lemonade... as they advertised on the website, that we weren't so keen on.
Coca Cola worked better.
The best was a combination of the two.

However we need to try plenty more to come up with something brilliant.
Bottoms up!
