Communication is a Virus

We have decided to take a very hand-made approach to the designs, using hand-rendered type and hand-drawn illustrations to accompany the information, to add to the whole hand-created feel.
In response to feedback from the crits, we need to make the text very legible, which was a problem initially to make it both aesthetically pleasing and readable.
They also said that it was a very good idea, that most of them would actually use the website, and that times like these need ideas like this as people are finding it harder and harder to afford presents.
We also realized that our audience was too broad, some adults would find giving some of our ideas to other adults quite childish. And the idea of giving the mailshots out in shopping centers would be useless as people would already have set out with the purpose of buying a present.
In response to this we changed our target audience to children/teenagers who are often in need of ideas for such things, and don't possess as much money as adults. We also decided that the aim was to give the mailshots out in schools and send them to parents of the children. With the information we provide, children will be able to produce gifts that parents will cherish and keep, the idea may help encourage parents to help the children produce them.

We did a lot of research into different gift ideas and events, a lot of my role was in the research, also in the design of the actual website.
We chose calm green and yellow colours to add to the text and warm illustrations.
