These were the pieces I handed in on the day of the crit.
I decided to play around with colour and different aspects of type to get the right effect. In hindsight, I think I could have been far more adventurous when it came to the typeface. It relays a lot to the type sessions we had with Graham last semester when he asked us to do small exercises to do with visually representing emotions through type.
Angry would be bold and red. Showing loud noises and passion through the size of the type and the colour (would be a lot more vibrant if represented in RGB).
Frightened... much like the 'shy dog' exercise, would be smaller and lighter. Trying to be inconspicuous... hiding. I am decided to play around with the weight of the type, making it thinner to make it less conspicuous than the rest. I think I could do more though... maybe hiding it completely behind another word?
Drunk... well... different positions, and green from the hangover... pretty self explanatory.
I do really feel I could do a lot more with this though.
(you can only see this at an angle)
(print photograph needed)
I printed the word 'secretly' in
R- 196
G-192
B-192
Which appears invisible... but when printed on tracing paper, shows up at certain angles, hiding the word... making it secretive.
