In our session with Amber today, we were told to cut out 6 squares of coloured card 10x10mm, and followed that with 4 more of each in 5x5. We then proceeded to experiment with the different colours physically, looking into the reactions of putting each one with another and layering them up.
We researched into how the same colour appears differently to the eye when put with different colours. For example... a red square dominated by black appears lighter than a red square dominated by yellow.
We then followed this by creating several arrows in different shapes and colours and experimented with these also. The results were really interesting. Particularly when adding a small black arrow to a yellow background (which highlights it) compared to a larger orange one on a green background (which dulls it down, blurrs the edges)
